The Matters of the Heart

(Something I read this morning)

A lot of people have been playing games when it comes to the Word. They claim to be faith people in public. But, in private, they never open the Bible at all. Then, when a time of trouble comes and they try to stand on the Word they fall flat on their spiritual faces.

Well, the time for playing games is over. It’s time for us to realize that real faith involves action. James 20:20 says, “faith without works (or corresponding action) is dead.

If you want the kind of faith that will keep you on your feet when others are falling around you, you need to take some action where the Word is concerned.

The Matters of the Heart

Do you think the devil is not taking notice of what is happening in your life spiritually? Well, he is. And it is his goal to discredit you in any way possible. People will say things, waiting for a negative remark. Always remember, it’s not what they do to you, but, it is always your response. We’ve got to watch and pray. The enemy will try to sneak into any door where a crack is left. Close every door, every window, chimney, whatever entrance way there is, so that the devil cannot enter. Stay prayed up. Read your Word daily. It’s time to grow in Christ, and not keep repeating the same test over and over again.

The Matters of the Heart

Love your enemies…Turn the other cheek. To most people that sounds like a pretty weak way to handle somebody who is causing them trouble. But, the truth is, it is the way Jesus did it, and His way never fails. If you walk in the love of God, you are living the most powerful kind of life there is. Again, if you walk in the LOVE OF GOD, you are living the most powerful kind of life there is.

The Matters of the Heart

There is a STANDARD, a level of quality and excellence in everyone who says they are a child of God. Don’t talk to me about your freedom to do what you want to do, go where you want to go, and act like you want to act and still name the name of Christ. You are bought with a price. The precious blood of Jesus Christ. From the time He died on the cross until now, the STANDARD remains the same… “BE YE HOLY FOR I AM HOLY…” says the Lord.

Do we shack up? NO! Do we fornicate? NO! Do we commit adultery? NO! Drink, lie, cheat or cuss? NO! Examine your own life. If you say you are Holy, then live the life. We are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses. Who is stumbling over your messy life? Come on now! The world’s eyes are on the church.
